Oklahoma

Oklahoma state legalized medical marijuana in 2018, and currently cannabis is legal for possession and use for medicinal purposes with a state-issued license. With hundreds of Oklahoma growers and processors already onboarded with Cultivera Pro, the state has quickly become our fastest growing market.

Licensing

Licensing Bodies

Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) was established to oversee the Oklahoma medical marijuana program. The OMMA is responsible for licensing, regulating, and administering the program according to state law.

Operating under the Oklahoma State Department of Health, their goal is to ensure safe and responsible practices within the Oklahoma cannabis industry.

Bureau of Narcotics & Dangerous Drugs Control

All Grower, Processor, and Dispensary applicants must register with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control (OBNDD) platform after receiving a license from OMMA, as required by OAC 475:10-1-9(a).

Traceability Requirements

Metrc Adoption

Previously referred to as the “Wild West of weed” for its lack of seed to sale tracking, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) recently chose to adopt Metrc as their official traceability system, and is in the process of transitioning to the Metrc platform.

Cultivera allows Oklahoma operations to seamlessly transfer to the new tracking system with an intuitive Pre-Metrc environment.
